The city is considered a regional shopping destination, with Westfield Galleria at the center of retail activity. Westfield's $240 million dollar revitalization for this space included 400,000 additional square feet and two new parking structures (1400 new parking spaces). The redevelopment served as Sacramento's first "lifestyle" oriented shopping area, with stores such as Whole Foods, Orvis, Chico's, Z Gallerie, White House Black Market, Anthropologie, Soma, and Lucy.
The 400,000 additional square feet includes two new state-of-the-art Westfield Signature Family Lounges, a new interior Westfield Children’s Playtown, and a new café-style Dining Terrace, featuring fast casual eateries. The Dining Terrace took the conventional food court to a whole new level, combining indoor and outdoor dining with expanded seating, where visitors can enjoy an elevated dining experience and environment.
